PICTORIAL ELEMENTS SUGGESTING BURIALS OR DEATH-RELATED IMAGERY

Depicted on MC2, there are two caves that share identical features. They are situated at Ixtiyucan and Acatzingo, both in the state of Puebla.

Concerning the Acatzingo site, Simons writes, "In the middle of the cave, there is the characteristic draped cloth sign with the feathered part of an arrow on top. Below this, there is a butterfly cocoon ["bolsa de mariposa"].
